Captain Dare Blankenhorn and Chef Leigh Ann Nelson, share a passion of water sports, sailing and travel. Their southern hospitality is rooted in their North Carolina upbringing. Together for 15 years, this couple has professionally sailed the oceans of the world. They look forward to “Turning Your Dreams of Paradise into Lifetime Memories”.

Dare’s love of the water started at a young age. While at East Carolina University receiving his BA degree in Philosophy and Business Administration, he created the award winning East Carolina Water-ski and Wakeboard Team. He holds a 100 ton USCG Masters with 200 ton pending, plus a Yacht Master 200 ton Offshore License. He has full STCW ratings and is a certified diver. He has logged over 10,000 nautical miles traveling the Atlantic Ocean, English Channel, Mediterranean Sea, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea. He has spent over three years in the Virgin Islands charter industry. In 2005/2006, Dare began as engineer and worked up to Captain on the luxurious 100’ Palmer Johnson sailing yacht “Toto” cruising the Caribbean and the Mediterranean with the owner and his guests. Dare welcomes the opportunity to welcome you aboard Charme and show you the beauty of the Virgin Islands.

Leigh Ann graduated from Appalachian State University with a BA degree in Interpersonal Relations. Out of college, she worked in Child Development for the Watauga County School System. Leigh Ann has three passions in life – sailing, cooking and photography. She has logged over 5,000 nautical miles sailing the Caribbean, Atlantic and Mediterranean. She is STCW compliant. Leigh Ann made transatlantic crossings on the 110’ luxury sailing yacht S/V “Toto”. Last season, she was based in Antibes and St. Tropez, France serving as Chef/Mate on the luxurious 55’ Ferriti M/Y “Maloo” catering to high profile guests from all over Europe and America. With her Southern hospitality, Leigh Ann will welcome you aboard and make you feel at home. She looks forward to tempting your taste buds with her superb cuisine, especially prepared with your preferences in mind. Don’t be surprised if you leave with quality memories recorded by Leigh Ann’s camera.
