Designed and built specifically for charter in the Caribbean, SOUTHERN COMFORT, a 62' Nautical Ketch, truly lives up to her name with the spacious accommodations you would expect to find only in a considerably larger sailing yacht. The flourishes of a Caribbean yacht are present throughout. From its highly polished woodwork, to the supremely comfortable furnishings, this elegant vessel is carefully fitted with every attention to your perfect sailing vacation. While natural ventilation is excellent throughout the yacht, SOUTHERN COMFORT can be fully air conditioned at any time upon request.
Four near equal guest staterooms with ensuite head and shower assure your complete comfort and privacy. The two aft staterooms have double beds, and the forward staterooms each have double and single beds. Every stateroom is equipped with an opening hatch, cabin fan, reading light in each berth, cedar-lined hanging locker and stowage drawers.
A fully equipped entertainment center offers color television, DVD and stereo system with CD and cassette players. Also available for your enjoyment is an extensive library of movies, music and books.

Southern Comfort's Crew
Capt. Mike Calhoun plus 2 crew Captain Mike Calhoun holds a U.S. Coast Guard Masters License, 100 ton, with aux. sail, radar and commercial towing assistance endorsements and is STCW-95 certified. He is an American Sailing Association (ASA) sailing and coastal navigation instructor and holds a lifetime General Radio-Telephone Operator license as well as a Technician class amateur radio license (call sign: KI4KIC). Born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Virginia and Vermont, Mike has traveled over 75 thousand miles under sail from Maine to the Caribbean, Mexico, Tahiti and Australia. He has delivered boats in both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. He is a CPR/AED and First Aid Instructor and Instructor Trainer for the American Red Cross. He is President of the Board of Directors of the Comprehensive Community Care Network, a non-profit corporation that provides medical care, support and social services for the medically uninsured in Palm Beach County, Florida. Mike is a career broadcast journalist and has covered City Hall to Congress, the O.J. Simpson trial to the White House. He has worked for several radio and television stations as well as CBS and NBC News. His voice can be heard on documentaries and commercials worldwide. His hobbies include skydiving, photography, snorkeling and rescuing abused and abandoned companion birds. Mate/Dive Instructor Kim Caley is a PADI certified OWSI Dive Instructor. Kim has been diving since 1990 and became a Dive Intructor in 2003. She has been wreck diving in the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida. Her dive travels have included the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands and all over the Caribbean. Kim was born in Columbia, South Carolina and attended the University of South Carolina. She graduated in 1989 with a B.A in History. She is an avid photographer and adept at identifying undersea life. Kim only serves as Mate aboard Southern Comfort on charters involving diving. Chef Olivia White was born in Tennessee and as a military brat has lived in North Carolina, Texas, California and Hawaii. She learned to cook in her grandmother's kitchen and draws rave reviews from our guests for her hearty fare and range of recipes. Olivia is an aspiring writer and is working on obtaining her captain's license. She speaks some Spanish and currently lives aboard a 39 foot Lindsey Globemaster motorsailor with her father Mack and her dog "Louie". They have been traveling throughout the Caribbean since 2006. Backup Mate/Backup Chef Ian Finn was born in Spring
Lake, Michigan and attended boarding school in Scotland and the
University of West Florida. Ian speaks intermediate level Spanish
and has traveled through 31 countries, most recently Surinam, the
Phillipines, Brazil and Malaysia. Ian lives aboard a 30 foot Willard
sailboat with his coconut retriever "Pre". Ian serves
as our backup mate or chef aboard Southern Comfort and has formal
